It is important to remember the A-B-C's of why the ball goes where. Too often I find that golfers don't understand what causes fat or thin shots or what makes the ball go left and right. If you can remember the following simple steps you will begin to understand what makes your ball go where.
A. CLUBHEAD PATH -- The direction your club is traveling through the impact area will dictate the starting direction for your golf ball. If your divot goes left, it is most
likely that your clubhead is traveling left of your target at impact.
( the greater the clubhead speed the more critcal this becomes )
B. CLUBFACE POSITION AT IMPACT -- This is the single most important factor in dictating where the ball will go. If your clubface is aimed right you will usually hit a higher, weaker shot that slices or is pushed to the right. If your clubface is aimed to the left at impact the ball will usually go lower, start left or hook.
C. TOPPED & FAT SHOTS -- These shots are caused by a change up or down in your posture. ( back or knees ) A player must stay fairly level to maintain consistency.
